When I moved to the US, I learned that as it gets colder, everyone begins to wear a lot of dark colors. I tried to understand the reasoning behind it but that was hard for me. I’m a Caribbean girl! I don’t hate dark colors but I need some color in my life, especially when the sky is grey in the Fall and/or Winter. But…..as fate has it, darker colors tend to keep you warmer and I don’t like being cold at all so I’ve given in to the dark-color attire intermittently. However, I love color so as it gets colder, I start to wear color in a different way.

One of my secrets is adding a colorful scarf to a monotone outfit. In this outfit, I tied the newest Baydian scarf into a bow, which merged all the styling elements into a modern take on a matador outfit. The Spanish Influence was by accident lol. Nevertheless, it was great to look at the pictures and realize that I was expressing another culture through my personal style.

Do you tend to wear darker colors in the Fall and/or Winter?
