So I just turned 25.
Yep, as my fiance would say, I’m now a quarter century. And if there’s anything I’ve realized is that being myself and loving everything about me is the way to go.
It’s a philosophy that applies to my career goals, business dreams and blogging passions. In a nutshell, at the age of 25, I have become comfortable with my style no matter the role I am functioning in. I have embraced the process just like a flower.
My life is no longer focused on impressing others or trying to keep up with the Jones.’ I tend to care less about how many likes a photo receives on Instagram or, if I should or should not share something that has happened in my life on Facebook. I feel carefree. I have this urge to use my gifts to the fullest, to defy the odds, and to fight for what I believe in with all my heart.
The truth is, though, this mindset was something I had to fight for. I’ve dealt with immigration woes, friend changes, that haunting feeling of wanting to give up, and the list goes on. But, each storm helped me to sail closer to my dreams and each drop of rain helped me to bloom into a beautiful flower – the flower I am today. And it’s from all this that I drew my inspiration for today’s outfit of the day: light-washed florals.
This is probably all so strange to say at 25 but here’s a quote that wraps it all up in a beautiful package. If there’s anything turning 25 has brought to light, it’s this:
Like wildflowers; you must allow yourself to grow in all the places people thought you never would.
