Pink is always in season.
But in recent times, blush pink has been all the rage!
I mean, even though reds and other super-bright colors were trending on the Spring/Summer 2017 runways, I’ve still spent $200+ dollars on pink clothing items to add to my wardrobe this year. Not to mention that my phone accessories from Luxe Phones are all sparkly and pink!
You might say that I have an addiction. But if you’re a rebel like me, you know its more than that.
It’s an attitude.
The Meaning of the Color Pink
Pink is more than a color, it’s an attitude.
According to color psychology, pink “represents compassion, nurturing and love,” particularly as it relates to unconditional love and understanding. Or, in other words, pink represents femininity, empathy and intimacy.
Whew!! That’s a lot of deep.
Nevertheless, pink (especially blush pink) is soft. It’s light, it’s airy, and it’s refreshing. And most of all, it’s hopeful.
No wonder it’s one of the main colors this season! Plus it tends to make everything pretty.
A Daring Way to Color Block Pink
With that being said, how do you take such a sensual color and make it sophisticated? Simply combine it with a darker color, like grey.
Yep, that’s right! Pairing pink and grey will create an outfit that represents strength. In fact, this color block idea is the perfect depiction of a well-known fashion principle – mixing hard and soft.
